Born in San Francisco, Margaret grew up in the East Bay and found her voice in politics at a young age. In 2008, she and her moms volunteered for the No on Prop 8 campaign. Margaret became a spokesperson for the cause, appearing in local and national media. When the case went before the Supreme Court, she was asked to write an amicus brief in support of same-sex marriage equality. In 2013, Margaret moved to New York City to attend Barnard College of Columbia University, where she studied Political Science and Economics. As a college student, Margaret interned for Infinite Global Communications, where she learned the skills of marketing and PR management. While in New York, Margaret also worked as a communications volunteer for the Hillary for America campaign. Following graduation in 2017, she moved back home to the Bay. In her free time, Margaret enjoys baking, reading, and hiking the beautiful California trails.
